Chris Esselink, Owner, Oasis Hair Studio
Chris is one of a three generational group of hairdressers in her family.  After finishing grade 11, she chose to go to Blair's School of Beauty in Vernon, BC to get her basic education in hairdressing.  She then stayed home after marrying in 1980 to raise a family.
In 1999, Chris went back to get her cosmetology license and began to work hard to learn as much as she possibly could to expand her knowledge in the industry in long hair design, cutting techniques from Pivot Point and her passion, color.
Chris took up the color line by JOICO, Vero K-pak Color.  Learning as much as was available for it, she sat in on classes taught by some of the best in the industry, Paul Arnold and Carl Robathan to name two.  After becoming a jag member (Joico Artistic Guild) and an in-salon advisor, Chris took a major leap by applying as a Technical Advisor for JOICO, teaching on the Vero K-Pak Color line to other stylists for two years.  She loves to share what she knows and if she doesn't, is not afraid to find out the answers.
From time to time, Chris has taken others under her wing who feel they may seek a career in hairdressing.  It's what she like to do.
In 2009, Chris received her Nail Technician's license which now qualifies her in all aspects of the beauty industry.
In September 2010, Chris went to Paris, France to spend a week with the International Artistic Team from La Biosthetique Paris, learning their new cut and color trends.
Chris has a very busy schedule so booking at least 2 weeks ahead to avoid any disappointment.

At The Oasis, we firmly believe that furthering our education is to your benefit, that's why we are always upgrading and researching for the best and latest in our craft.
